Goodbye 2014

Tears, laughter and growth - that has been the theme of 2014. From a huge loss in my family to the blessing of a new little cousin, this year has been an emotional roller coaster. This year coming up, I hope to continue to grow and follow my dreams, aspirations and goals.

I never really set any New Year's Resolutions because what I want to be and where I want to go in life, should be an ongoing journey. We should all strive to be healthy, active and happy to work hard and earn & save money not just in January but all the time.

Our resolutions should be to be kinder, more understanding and accepting of each other. To support the people around you and not be jealous if someone has more than you. To be grateful for what you have accomplished and what you have. To not always take but to take a moment to give back, to make a difference in the world.

The goal should be to be a better person- from the inside out.

Happy New Year! Here is to a year filled with love, laughter and success.

5 Reasons Why Being Sick, SUCKS!

My immune system is the worst! While my family likes to blame me for not taking "better care of myself", I like to think that whether or not I bundle up like an eskimo, if I'm exposed to a virus- my body is just not strong enough to fight it off. Regardless of healthy eating and vitamins, one way or another, Imma gonna get sick!

While staying home and not doing anything but sleep, sounds like my cup of tea. When you are truly sick...your "day off" won't be great. Here are my reasons why being sick, sucks:
  1. Your whole body aches | It's as if you were hit by a bus or fell down the stairs in your sleep. Every time you move, the discomfort returns and no matter how you position yourself, you just can't seem to be comfy.
  2. Loss of appetite and taste | Food is just not as magical when you are sick- nothing tastes right and for the most part, you aren't even hungry 80% of the time. In those odd instances that you are hungry, swallowing is so painful that only warm liquids will have to do.
  3. Hot Flashes and Chills | The "do I have a fever" stage. When having one leg over the covers will not suffice, and you will literally take off every layer of clothing you were wearing, only to put it back on 2 minutes later.
  4. Runny Nose | THIS. is what I hate the most about being sick- having to walk around all day with a box of Kleenex, and braving the feeling of sandpaper on your nose. By the end of the week, you will look like Rudolph.
  5. Looking and feeling like the Walking Dead | Not only do you feel half dead the whole time, but people avoid and stay away from you like you were a zombie. At any point, you might turn and bite them...or sneeze.
Keep hydrated, stay warm and get plenty of sleep! It will be over soon :)

Is it the most "Wonderful Time"?

Between exams and Christmas shopping, December can be a stressful month! The running around, coffee drinking, crowded malls and just plain craziness. The "Most Wonderful Time of the Year" is a nightmare that lasts 24 days.

For most people, at least. Yeah, its stressful but you won't get me down with a few hundred pages of psychology and going over my credit limit with online shopping (my guilty pleasure). Since a very young age, Christmas has been my favourite season - the decorating, music and just the warm and fuzzy feeling you get all season long.

To me, it is most definitely a Wonderful Time and I will go out of my way to make others feel that way. Forget about the lavish gifts, the waiting in line and being "stressed" - breathe in and let go of all that muck. Spend time with family, do something nice and have fun - the saying "it's the thought that counts" has really gotten lost for some people and during this time, that's all that maters.

Happy Holidays!

What's in a name?

A name can be so important. It gives something or someone a meaning.

Nats Tally, is a play on words.

Say it all together and it's Natalie, my name with a story. Nats is a nickname that was given to me, not sure where the "s" came from but it just stuck; while Tally means "an account of" or "to keep record".

I hope that when someone reads this, they won't think that my opinions are so crazy, and that maybe, they can relate, learn or laugh at something I write.

Welcome to my blog- my account of crazy thoughts, stories and opinions.
